We are hosting a two-part hybrid interview format for Fall 2023 OCI. For On-Campus Interviews, our office will coordinate office locations or video interviews with the selected candidates. For Resume Collect, the process will be the same where resumes will be sent to employers, and employers will then coordinate interviews on their own.

Required Employer Forms
The Early Interview Week Registration Form must be completed by June 23, 2023. Employers should also submit any promotional materials they would like students to review. The Fall OCI Program Online Registration Form must be completed by August 18, 2023. Employers should also submit any promotional materials they would like students to review.

Employers can request student resumes, transcripts, and writing samples. Materials are sent to employers approximately 7-10 days before the interview date. Employers prescreen candidates, provide selections to the CSO, and an interview schedule is generated.

Due to COVID-19, we are hosting a hybrid two-part interview format for Fall 2022 OCI.

If you organize or participate in either cooperative or off-campus interview programs, please list applicable information about participating schools, dates, interview locations, program coordinator/telephone, pre-screening or other selection process, and registration fees.
As one of 12 members of the Law School Career Advisors of Southern California (LSCA), Southwestern co-sponsors the Public Interest/Public Sector Career Day at UCLA. Patent Law Interview Program: held in late July/early August at Loyola University Chicago School of Law; Southwestern pays for the cost of student registration. San Francisco Intellectual Property Law Association (SFIPLA) Bay Area Job Fair - Student members are invited to participate in this annual job fair, which is held in July. Lavender Law Conference and Career Fair - Student members are invited to participate in this annual job fair, which is held in August; Southwestern assists with travel expenses. Equal Justice Works - Student members are invited to participate in this annual job fair, which is held in October; Southwestern assists with travel expenses. * Additional details and coordinator contact information is available by contacting Southwestern's Career Services Office. ** The LSCA schools include California Western School of Law, Chapman University School of Law, Loyola Law School, Pepperdine University School of Law, Southwestern Law School, UCLA School of Law, UC Irvine School of Law, University of La Verne College of Law, University of San Diego School of Law, and USC Law School.

DIVERSITY INTERVIEW PROGRAMS
Southwestern encourages its students to participate in job fairs and interview programs of all types. Southwestern students regularly participate in programs such as: Lavender Law Conference, Minnesota Minority Recruitment Conference, Impact Job Fair for Students with Disabilities, the Minority Corporate Counsel Job Fair, Hispanic National Bar Association Job Fair, the National and the Western Region Black Law Students Association Career Fair, Vault/MCCA Legal Diversity Career Fair, Equal Justice Works Job Fair and other similar programs throughout the country.

For Employers who do not interview students on-campus, will you:

If you provide job listings for graduates, describe how to send notice, when employers can expect responses, length of time notice is posted (whether in print or online), etc.
Attorney and student job listings may be submitted by mail, phone, fax, or email. These listings are posted on Southwestern's Symplicity site and remain active for one month or until our office has been notified that the position has been filled. Employers can also post positions directly to Symplicity. A confirmation message and a copy of the listing are sent to the employer upon listing activation. Employers can find more information about posting jobs on our website.

FIRST-YEAR STUDENT Describe any special regulations pertaining to the recruitment of first year students. For example, are first year students eligible for spring OCI? When are job notices posted during second semester?
First year students are eligible to participate in the Spring On-Campus Interview Program, as well as Public Interest/Public Sector Career Day, and other recruiting activities during the spring semester. First year students can gain access to Symplicity after attending their mandatory career services orientation session. Southwestern does not begin offering one-on-one career counseling or resume reviews to first-year students before October 1(except in the case of our 2 year SCALE program, part-time day and part-time evening students).
